Ms. Simone FM Spinner is a prolific wine, travel, and food writer, public speaker, and wine judge. Simone gives wine-themed talks, seminars, interactive events, and eno/gastro tours through her business Wine Rocks & Chasing Grapes™LLC. She loves assisting connoisseurs, aficionados, and novices with their wine collecting and consuming desires. Ms. Spinner is an award-winning certified wine sommelier holding 13 wine certifications including the Court of Masters Certified level and the WSET Advanced level. As the honored recipient of the 2020 Women in the Vine & Spirits scholarship, she will complete her WSET Diploma in 2021.
Ms. Spinner created the first degree in wine studies for Metropolitan State University of Denver, graduating with honors. She obtained her master’s degree with honors from the University of Colorado after defending her thesis, “Is Wine Art? The Aesthetics of Wine.” Ms. Spinner is a doctoral researcher exploring the effects of climate volatility on wine culture. Her dissertation, “From Grapes to Wrath: Wine in the Age of Climate Change” will be a wide-release book in 2021. A distinguished lecturer, she teaches wine courses at the University of Colorado. Her first book, “Denver Food: A Culinary Evolution” was released in 2018. She lives in Colorado with two beautiful Shiba Inu dogs.
