A California Bay Area native, Matt started his life in the hospitality business at 19 years old, and immediately became enamored by the world of wine, pursued a path that led him through the ranks with the Court of Master Sommeliers and earned his Advanced Certification at 25 years old. He has a strong background in wine and hospitality which includes a tenure as wine director and sommelier for such acclaimed programs such as Atelier Crenn, Bar Crenn, Michael Mina, Manresa, and Chez TJ.
His varied background of business skills from the restaurant world and a keen passion for hospitality provides OMvino clients with a range of services, including wine education, restaurant consultation, project management, operational strategy, creation of internal systems & operating procedures, as well as distribution & supply chain consulting. He is a graduate of the University of Santa Cruz with a degree in Linguistics and conversational in half of a dozen languages.
