Lelañea is a 13 year New York City and Los Angeles Sommelière & Wine Director of both Michelin Star and trendy establishments, who decided to sell it all and head west in an RV with nothing more than an angry house cat from Brooklyn and a white husky from the desert of southern California.
Her experience reflects an extensive history of award-winning wine lists, wine sales, marketing, education, DTC sales, operations, and private consulting, as well as over 20 years of experience in hospitality and restaurant wine program management in NYC, Los Angeles, and Detroit. Her repertoire includes but is not limited to David Burke and Donatella’s, Jeffrey Zakarian’s Town at the Chambers Hotel, Megu, and THOR. She spent several years with The Crown Group juggling their three establishments, The Lion, Crown 81 and Bill's finally ending her stay in NYC after opening and receiving an award for her Wine Program at Rich Torrisi's Dirty French in the Ludlow Hotel. To supplement her career growth, Lelañea also studied at the International Wine Center and The American Sommelier Association of NYC. Lelanea has also resided in Europe and travels frequently to maintain relationships and exposure to some of the world's most beautifully crafted wines.
Aside from a career in wine, Lelañea also had a profession as a fashion photographer and digital retoucher, web design, marketing & branding in NYC, and is still a contributing wine columnist for food and wine publications. Her creative experience and strong wine knowledge are now channeled through social media as a Content Manager for OMvino.
