Affiliate Sommelier

Emily Lester is our French wine correspondent and specialist based in France. She is an American sommelier, wine writer, and digital creative. Emily sold everything and moved to France in 2017 and goes by Paris Wine Girl. She draws on her artistic background to tell the stories of the people behind the great wines she discovers.

Emily travels throughout the wine regions of France to bring live coverage, news and create educational content for clients. She is covering the harvest and vinification in both Bourgogne and Champagne this year. She brings insider interviews with both underground and famous producers.

This content can be used for sales and marketing to importers, producers, distributors and educational institutions.

Before stepping into her journalism and content creation role this year, Emily worked as a sommelier for Les Caves Du Louvre and Ô Chateau in Paris where she is based. She also helps other wine businesses develop a social media strategy and supports them in building a creative digital identity.

She got her start in wine by way of her step-father who owned a wine import business in Seattle Washington. First, she completed her WSET at the Wine School Paris under the direction of Loire Valley biodynamic Vinergon, Daniel Henderson. Then she went on to complete her French Wine Scholar certification under Tanya Morningstar Darling at the Pacific Northwest Wine Academy in Seattle.

She is currently studying for a master level program through the Wine Scholar Guild.

Emily was the single American and one of only three other women who judged the Paris Wine Cup competition in 2020.
